This joint calendar of events is published by the secretariats of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The calendar highlights those events mandated by the CBD, UNCCD and UNFCCC processes that are relevant to the work of all three conventions. The organizing convention secretariat is indicated by different colors.

The joint calendar was first published in early 2002, following an agreement of the Joint Liaison Group, comprising the Chairs of the relevant subsidiary bodies of the CBD, UNCCD and UNFCCC, and the Executive Secretaries and some staff of the three secretariats. For 2003, the calendar is being made available in a more elaborate form, allowing visitors to view relevant events as well as biodiversity, desertification and climate change related artwork each month.

Parties should note that the dates for some events are subject to change. Questions concerning the specific events organized by each secretariat should be directed to: secretariat@biodiv.org, secretariat@unccd.int or secretariat@unfccc.int.
